Welcome to Bluwater Art

This site was developed after friends encouraged me to "put my talent out there"! For many years I have painted animal portraits as gifts for friends or just as practice study. Now I would like to offer my work to you.

I am often told the animals I paint look "furry" enough to reach out and pet. This is the best compliment I can receive and I hope you will feel the same way after viewing my work.

My pet portraits are done from your "high resolution" photos. I work from one photo and paint what I see, so the more detailed the photo…the better. I prefer to do head portraits because, as much as possible, the hairs are painted stroke by stroke. The larger the subject…the more brush strokes are involved.

If you are interested in commissioning a pet portrait, here is some basic information to get you started:

· Pricing is a minimum of $385.00 and depends on size and

subject matter

· All portraits are done in acrylic paint

· Photos need to be high resolution and "sharp". Professional

quality photos are best.

· Depending on the file size, digital photos can be emailed or

original photos can be mailed to the P.O. Box.

· Portraits are available on stretched canvas or wooden plaques.

Sizes start at 8" X 10" and can be rectangle or oval

· A 50% non-refundable deposit is required
